Thriving in Leadership, Business and Careers on World Happiness Day

Today, on World Happiness Day, we reflect on what it truly means to thrive—not just in our careers or business, but in leadership and life. As you may have noticed, thriving is an important aspect of my brand, so this is a great opportunity to discuss thriving and happiness in professional/business contexts.

Is happiness at work about constant joy? Is it about purpose, growth, and impact? Is it about power, titles and compensation? Is it about work-life balance and having more time with your loved ones? What does thriving mean to you? For me, it’s about leading with integrity, impact, excellent service, and continuous learning, creating environments where people feel valued and see the investment in their growth. I invite you to consider these three key aspects of thriving in leadership, business and careers:

  1. Examine your values and strengths: Align your work with your values and strengths. Meaningful work fosters deep fulfillment when they align with our core beliefs and talents. Did you know that you can do a values assessment and a strengths assessment?
  2. Invest in Growth: Continuous learning and adaptability keep you ahead and engaged in your career journey. How are you investing in your learning and development?
  3. Build Strong Relationships: Foster genuine connections, mentor others, and seek out mentors yourself. Author Minda Harts always says that success is not a solo sport. Who are the people you are surrounding yourself with?

For many of us, true career happiness comes from making a difference for the people around us and for ourselves. So today, let’s commit to leading with purpose, growing with intention, and lifting others as we climb. For me, it is a joy to serve you through writing, speaking, training and coaching. To help you move towards a thriving career, I offer you this free workbook Elevate and Thrive with 16 Powerful Coaching Questions for a Thriving Career as my World Happiness Day gift to you.
